Attendance:
If you are to be absent for any reason please call the studio 1-269-266-2119 and leave a message with your name and reason for being absent.
No credit will be given for classes missed. Make-up classes can be scheduled at dancers request.
Class Attire Requirements:
All students are required to wear proper “Dance Attire”.
Our dress code policy is as follows and will be strictly enforced:
Leotard and tights, unitard, or biketard are required for those students beginning through adult. Dance skirts may be worn, but must be removable, and not must not hang below the knees. Jazz pants or Capri’s may be worn only by a student 12 years of age or older. Ballet and Pointe students will remove their pants during the Ballet or Pointe section of their class. Absolutely NO boxers, flannels, sweatpants or pajama pants of any kind, may be worn. Over shirts must be tight in nature or only bear the "Sawyer Dance" label. All hair must be neatly secure off face and neck.
Proper style and color of shoes are required, and they are the responsibility of the student. If you need shoes, they are available for purchase thru the Academy. Returning students can trade-in or sell old shoes (tap shoes and jazz shoes only) that are in good condition thru the Academy.
Health and Safety Protocol:
We all share in the great responsibility to demonstrate that Michigan can begin to safely relax pandemic fighting restrictions without causing a resurgence of the disease. We here at Sawyer take that responsibility very seriously. We strive to be a leading example of how to safely operate while maintaining the highest quality dance experience for our customers.
At this moment we are open and mask free. Please do not send you dancer to class with a cough, sore throat, vomiting, or temperature above 100 degrees. Surfaces throughout the Academy are sanitized daily.
At any time, the State or CDC regulates we will instill the following:
Controlled entrance to Academy- Parents to drop off. Students younger that 6yrs will be allowed 1 parent to accompany and help situate.
Temperatures taken at door- any dancer with a temperature higher than 100.5 will not be allowed to stay and participate in class
Hands will be sanitized upon entrance and exiting class
Masks will be worn by all dancers
Dance Bags should contain self-sanitized shoes, Kleenex, Band Aids, and own Water Bottle
Social Distancing of 6 ft. will be practiced. Dance area blocked off in 8 squares with barres marked in 6 ft. sections
All surfaces will be disinfected between classes
Option to convert classes to a Zoom situation
